Online Event: The European Parliament’s role in creating an equal Europe free from poverty
The European Parliament Elections in June are fast approaching. This is a crucial moment to put the eradication of poverty at the top of the European policy agenda.
On Wednesday 10 April, the European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN) Ireland will host an online event looking at the European Parliament’s role in creating an equal Europe free from poverty.

Paul Ginnell, Director of EAPN Ireland, will introduce the EU and its role in ending poverty and creating a fairer Europe for all.
Thomas Kramer, Community Manager at the European Parliament Liaison Office in Ireland, will speak about the role of the European Parliament in creating a social Europe.
Emer Costello, Head of Advocacy and Campaigns with Rehab Group and former Irish MEP, who will speak about her experience of working on social issues in the European Parliament, including as a member of the Employment and Social Affairs Committee.
Tim Hanley, Policy and Communications Officer at EAPN Ireland, will introduce EAPN Ireland’s European Parliament Election Manifesto.
