James Casey has been the Director of the European Anti-Poverty Network Ireland since 2026. He is responsible for the overall coordination of the organisation, working with its members, Board, staff and allies to ensure it remains strategic and effective in its mission to fight against poverty.  Prior to becoming Director, James worked in international development and with the Independent Living Movement Ireland. James has a PhD from the University of Galway where he was the recipient of a Doctoral Fellowship and has been active in social inclusion and activism for many years.
